Am I Ready? Transition Planning can be an important process at many different periods in our lives. As you have heard stated, “You only have one chance to make a first good impression”, or “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail”. These are great words of wisdom. Whether you are a young graduate looking to start a Practice, join an existing Practice, or have been practicing for a number of years and would like to “Grow your Practice” by adding an Associate, you need an adequate amount of time and careful planning. You may also be looking to add an Associate to eventually transition the Practice to them, or to exit the Practice with a shorter time frame. Timing, careful planning, starting early and quality presentation are all extremely important in the transition process. Most Practices have caring, loyal and dedicated employees who have long standing, wonderful relationships with the Dr., patients and each other. What an exciting and rewarding experience it can be for our families, staffs, patients and the Dr. to have a well "thought out" and organized transition plan. The demographics of the number of Dentists who will be looking at “Transitioning”, coupled with a more limited number of available young graduates, make careful planning and a quality presentation, very important. |
